Robert J. Musso

Robert J. Musso is regional executive and senior vice president of the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is responsible for the Branch's Board of Directors, oversees New Orleans' economic and financial education programs, and provides regional input into the Atlanta Fed's monetary policy process. He is also responsible for the District Cash Function Office and represents our District at the System level on all currency and coin matters.

Mr. Musso joined the New Orleans Branch of the Bank in 1968 and served in various positions in the check collection, fiscal agency, and data processing departments. He transferred to the Bank's Jacksonville Branch in 1972 as manager of the data processing department and returned to New Orleans as manager of data processing in 1974. He was named manager of the fiscal agency department in 1977 and served in that capacity until he was promoted to assistant vice president in 1981. He was named vice president and branch manager in 1988 and was promoted to senior vice president in 1999.

Mr. Musso has served at the System level in a number of capacities since 1984. He served as chairman of the System Cash Advisory Group from 1996 to 1999 and continues to serve as an Advisory Group member. This group advises the cash product office on cash operational matters.

A native of Thibodaux, LA, he attended Nicholls State University. He completed the Young Executive Program at Pennsylvania State University in 1980 and the Graduate Institute of Bank Marketing at Louisiana State University in 1983.
