Thursday, June 26, 2008
9 a.m.–3 p.m. (CT)
Location: The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Business Engineering Complex, Room 109, 1530 Third Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294
This curriculum presents an overview of personal wealth-building strategies that includes setting financial goals, budgeting, saving and investing, managing debt, and understanding credit reports and credit scores.
In the second portion of the workshop, we will show teachers how to help their students learn from the market. In the 10-week Web-based stock trading simulation, students apply research and math skills, practice group decision making and analyze cause-and-effect relationships.
A complimentary lunch and free materials will be provided. Space is limited. This year we are collecting from three to five canned goods per workshop for the United Way Community Food Bank. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
