Kyungsoon Wang works as a graduate research assistant in the community and economic development (CED) group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is a doctoral student in the School of City and Regional Planning at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research interests are in the fields of housing and real estate market analysis and community and economic development. Wang's research on the impact of smart growth initiatives on housing prices in metro Atlanta was awarded a research grant by the Housing and Community Development Division of the American Planning Association (APA) in the spring of 2010.
Prior to joining the CED team, Wang worked as a research assistant at the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC), researcher at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET), and real estate consultant in Seoul, South Korea. She also served as a research assistant in the Environmental Planning Institute (EPI) at Seoul National University.
She holds master's degrees in city and regional planning from Georgia Tech and urban design and planning from Seoul National University. Her bachelor's degree was in urban engineering from the University of Seoul in South Korea.
