It's All About the Jobs: Exploration and Networking at Free Innovations Forums

The Innovations in Economic Development Forum, presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Georgia Institute of Technology's Enterprise Innovation Institute and co-sponsored by the Georgia Economic Developers Association, is launching its 2010 speaker series. This year's theme: It's All About the Jobs: Creating Quality Jobs in a Time of Economic Recovery.

The first Forum will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, and features Dr. Nancey Green Leigh, professor of City and Regional Planning, Georgia Institute of Technology, and co-author of the fourth edition of Planning Local Economic Development: Theory and Practice. Dr. Leigh will be sharing a new vision for protecting and energizing metropolitan industrial sectors as a viable source of job growth and economic investment. The discussant will be Charles Whatley, Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship with the Atlanta Development Authority.

The Innovations in Economic Development Forum brings together faculty, researchers, students, economic developers, and policymakers to discuss leading-edge ideas and practices in economic development and innovation policy. All forums are free and open to the public.
