Confessions of a Shopaholic: Teaching about Credit and Debt

Learn how you can use clips from the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic to teach students about credit cards, debt, credit reports, credit scores, opportunity costs, financial responsibility, and more. The lessons in the workshop are appropriate for high school students. Attendees will participate in lessons and activities that meet national standards for economics, personal finance, and the common core initiative. Attendees will receive numerous lesson plans, materials, and a copy of the movie. Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) is a romantic comedy film based on the Shopaholic series of novels by Sophie Kinsella.

Participants will receive a movie DVD as well as educational resources and teaching tools to incorporate these concepts and the film into their high school classrooms. The workshop and materials are free but registration is required as space is limited. Snacks and lunch are included.
