Atlanta Fed Recognizes Five Employees with President's Award

The Atlanta Fed awarded its annual President's Award for Excellence to five staff members—Margaret Chancey in the Jacksonville Branch; Geraldine Elam, Scott Frame, and Sam Idahosa in the Atlanta head office; and Dean Woitha in the New Orleans Branch. The President's Award recognizes Sixth Federal Reserve District employees who have distinguished themselves by their outstanding performance.

Atlanta Fed Announces New Appointments in Bank Supervision, Retail Payments Risk and Corporate Engagement

Michael Johnson has been named to lead the banking supervision and regulation division at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Richard Oliver, executive vice president, will take responsibility for the Bank's Retail Payments Risk Forum. Andre Anderson is being promoted to senior vice president and moving to head the Bank's corporate engagement division. Clifford Stanford, assistant vice president, will move to bank supervision and regulation, and Richard Gilbert has been named an assistant vice president in bank supervision and regulation.

Carol B. Tomé


Carol B. Tomé, chief financial officer and executive vice president of The Home Depot, was appointed chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's board of directors in September 2009. Tomé joined The Home Depot in 1995 and has served as chief financial officer since 2001. She was named executive vice president of corporate services in 2007. She is responsible for leadership in real estate, store construction, financial services, strategic business development and growth initiatives. Her corporate finance duties include financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, financial operations, divisional finance, internal audit, investor relations, treasury and tax.

Before joining The Home Depot, she was vice president and treasurer of Riverwood International Corp. Tomé began her career as a commercial lender with United Bank of Denver (now Wells Fargo) and then spent several years as director of banking for the Johns-Manville Corp. She is a member of the UPS board of directors and serves as chair of the audit committee. She is a member of The Committee of 200 and a member of the board of trustees for the Atlanta Botanical Garden. A native of Jackson, Wyo., Tomé holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wyoming and an MBA in finance from the University of Denver.
