Chris Sims was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (along with Thomas J. Sargent) in 2011. Sims's teaching and research interests focus on analyzing the economic causes and effects of monetary policy. Among other honors, Sims is president of the American Economic Association, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the Econometric Society. He received his PhD from Harvard and has taught at Yale, the University of Minnesota, and Harvard.
