Atlanta Fed Named Ninth on DiversityInc's Top 10 Regional Companies for Diversity List for 2014

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta was named ninth on DiversityInc's 14th annual Top 10 Regional Companies for Diversity on April 22, 2014.

DiversityInc determines rankings using an objective methodology that calculates factors such as talent pipeline, equitable talent development (including commitments to mentorship and philanthropy), CEO/leadership commitment and supplier diversity. The empirical data for the rankings are provided by a 300-question survey filled out by personnel at the participating companies. Survey participation is free to any company with at least 1,000 U.S. workers.

We are pleased to be recognized by DiversityInc as one of the top regional companies for 2014," said Joan Buchanan, chief diversity officer and director of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. "Our commitment to diversity starts at the top and is reflected at all levels of the organization. The combined efforts of many, many people across our organization contributed to this recognition."

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
