Atlanta Fed Appoints Hall to Federal Advisory Council

O. B. Grayson Hall, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer of Regions Financial Corporation, was appointed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors’ Federal Advisory Council (FAC). His term begins Jan. 1, 2014, and ends Dec. 31, 2014.

Hall began his banking career when he joined Regions’ Management Training Program in 1980. He has served in roles of increasing responsibility including operations, technology, consumer banking, commercial banking and wealth management. Hall was elected vice chairman and a member of the boards of directors of Regions Financial Corporation and Regions Bank in 2008. He was named president and chief executive officer in April 2010 and assumed his current role of chairman, president and chief executive officer in May 2013.

Hall graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 1980, he received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking.

Hall serves on the board of directors for Zep Inc., the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama and Children’s of Alabama. He will also serve as the 2014 chairman of the Birmingham Business Alliance.

The FAC is composed of 12 representatives of the banking industry. The FAC meets several times a year to consult with and advise the Board of Governors on all matters within the Board’s jurisdiction. Each Reserve Bank chooses one FAC member to represent its district, and the members elect their own officers.
