Carolyn M. Fennell, director of public affairs of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Orlando International Airport, and Michael J. Grebe, chairman and chief executive officer of Interline Brands Inc., have been reappointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Jacksonville Branch. Their terms begin Jan. 1, 2014, and run through Dec. 31, 2016. Fennell most recently served as chair of the Jacksonville Branch in 2013.
Fennell has served in her current role since 1980. Previously she worked as a publicist at Walt Disney World in Orlando and served as production assistant at ABC News in London, England.
Fennell is a member of the executive committee and board of directors of Visit Orlando. Other memberships include the Orlando Museum of Art's board of trustees, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Leadership Advisory Council of SKAL International Orlando. She is chair of the board of visitors of the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication at Florida A&M University.
Fennell received a bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University. In 2010 she was recognized as Business Woman of the Year and Business Executive of the Year by the Orlando Business Journal. She received the Alpha Phi Alpha Drum Major Award (MLK) in 1997, and in 1995 she received the Public Relations Professional of the Year award from the Florida Public Relations Association and was named by Orlando Magazine as One of Fifteen Women Defining Power in Central Florida.
Grebe has served in his current position since 2007 and has served in various leadership roles at Interline Brands Inc. since joining the company in 1998. Previously, he was a group vice president with Airgas Inc. and president of IPCO Safety Inc.
Grebe is a member of the board of directors of Baptist Health System, Baptist Health System Foundation, Air Distribution Technologies Inc., and SRS Distribution Inc. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from the branch territory to the district Bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in formulating monetary policy and making discount rate recommendations. Fennell was appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Jacksonville Branch by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. Grebe was appointed by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. The Board of Governors appoints three of the directors of the Jacksonville Branch, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
