SANTANA APPOINTED ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT AT THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF ATLANTA

Doris Santana has been appointed assistant vice president over the statistical reports department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed.

Previously, Santana served as director of financial management in the accounting department. She began her career as an analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and joined the Atlanta Fed in 1996 as team leader in the statistical reports department. In 1999 she was promoted to director of financial management. She has served as the chair of the System Expense Workgroup. Santana received her bachelor of business administration degree in banking and finance, summa cum laude, from Hofstra University.

The statistical reports department collects data used to formulate monetary policy, determine reserve requirements, support supervisory and regulatory activities and analyze national and regional economies.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
