August total tax revenue collections continued to decline for five of the six states in the Sixth District. (Louisiana tax revenue for August has not been released.) Total tax revenue declined 3.7 percent in Alabama; 12.2 percent in Florida; 8.9 percent in Georgia; 36.0 percent in Mississippi; and 6.7 percent in Tennessee (on a three-month moving average basis) from a year earlier. All District states except Mississippi showed improvements in tax revenue collections.
