Our Commitment to Supplier Diversity and Inclusion
At the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, we embrace diversity and inclusion as essential to who we are. We rely on the unique individual talents, expertise, and valued perspectives of our employees as well as those of external stakeholders to carry out our mission as part of the nation's central bank.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. This commitment extends to the Bank's procurement of goods and services.
The Atlanta Fed's Supplier Diversity Program is committed to attracting diverse suppliers who offer high-quality, competitively priced products and services that support the Bank's procurement and corporate objectives. The Supplier Diversity Program is a collaborative effort involving the Bank, local and regional partner agencies, the communities we serve, and certified minority and women-owned businesses (M/WBE). This collaboration provides us with the widest possible selection of M/WBE suppliers based on merit. The goal is to increase opportunities for these companies by:
- Developing district-wide supplier diversity principles and practices to facilitate inclusion of M/WBE firms
- Building collaborative relationships that result in increased use of M/WBEs for procurement
- Establishing effective communications that heighten awareness and foster participation
- Reporting, tracking, and measuring the program's effectiveness
The Atlanta Fed's support of diverse suppliers promotes economic opportunities and contributes to the local economies of the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and parts of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee. The Bank's Financial Management and Planning Procurement Department carries out the acquisition of goods and services for all the Sixth District.
Policy Statement of Nondiscrimination in Contracting and Procurement
The Atlanta Fed does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, or sexual orientation in its contracting and procurement activities.
Diversity Outreach Program
The Bank's outreach program is designed to maintain a diverse pool of qualified suppliers. Our purchasing unit actively solicits and provides small, minority, and women-owned businesses with equal opportunity to compete for the Bank's goods and services. The Bank participates in vendor fairs, uses supplier databases to search for qualified candidates, and holds memberships in organizations that support its diversity initiatives.
