2004 Annual Report Spotlights Employees in Their Environments

The Atlanta Fed’s 2004 annual report, titled “Ordinary Days, Extraordinary Times,” focuses on the day-to-day contributions of individual staff members and the events that can alter the work of the Federal Reserve and these employees’ jobs. Headline-grabbing events in 2004 included hurricanes, terror threats, and Internet viruses. Essays profiling the bank’s business areas describe the impact of these events and report key information from the year.

Through a 24-hour sequence, photographs spotlight Atlanta Fed employees, including a bank examiner, an economic analyst, a law enforcement officer, and a cash handler, in their typical work environments. Quotes from the featured employees convey each individual’s insights about the job he or she does.
