Access to Job Success

The first episode of the second season of the Access podcast is now available online. The podcast series gives voice to community members and organizations across the country about successful programs that help provide access to opportunity for low- and moderate-income individuals and families.

The latest episode discusses a holistic workforce development model that moves beyond traditional training programs to think more about how to reduce barriers to job success and mobility. The episode features interviews with the former secretary of U.S. Housing and Urban Development, Julián Castro, and with the executive director of a Denver organization that partners with employers to provide workers with services that improve engagement, retention, and advancement opportunities. It also spotlights the experience of an employee who has benefited from these services.

New to podcasts? Podcasts are episodic digital audio programs, like shows you hear on public radio stations. They are a great way to access information or learn new things on the go, and many listeners download them for their commutes, workouts, or downtime. You can subscribe to podcasts through apps on your mobile device (Access is available on iTunes, Stitcher, and TuneIn) or listen through a browser (accesspodcast.org).
