Miami Dade Community College
Miami, FL
October 5, 2015
9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. ET

Cohosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and several local partners, the forum will answer how best to gather, analyze, and use data to understand what actually works in economically distressed communities in Miami. The forum will use resources from a San Francisco Fed and Urban Institute publication, What Counts: Harnessing Data for America's Communities. The event will feature conversations with national experts on these issues as well as fast-paced overviews by local practitioners of existing data efforts at the neighborhood level. Through interactive problem-solving sessions around local issues, the forum will highlight how public, private, and nonprofit sectors can achieve more by working together and by using data to inform and gauge the context in which they are working, the most effective ways to target resources, and the overall impact of their efforts.

The forum will address questions such as: Do you think data could enhance your organization's work, but you're not sure where to start? How can data be better used to inform policy and program decision making? What is the role of data in the various stages of conceptualizing, designing, and implementing policies and programs?
