The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta was named fifth on DiversityInc's 16th annual Top Regional Companies for Diversity on May 2, 2017.

The Atlanta Fed recognizes the significant value that a diverse workforce contributes to carrying out its mission. "We are honored to be recognized for the fourth year by DiversityInc as one of the top regional companies," said André Anderson, senior vice president, corporate engagement officer, and acting director of the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion.

The DiversityInc Top 50 list, issued yearly since 2001, recognizes the nation's top companies for diversity and inclusion management. These companies excel in such areas as hiring, retaining, and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT people, and veterans.

DiversityInc's extensive annual survey yields an empirically driven ranking based on recruitment, talent development, senior leadership commitment, and supplier diversity. This year's competition was improved by new survey questions, increased emphasis on fairness over chasing numbers, and more sophisticated analysis from DiversityInc's data scientists.

"This recognition from DiversityInc is really evidence of our Bank truly embracing diversity and inclusion as essential to who we are," Anderson continued. "Our commitment to diversity is reflected at all levels of the organization. This commitment appears not just in our staff representation, but also in many of our policies, programs, and business decisions that affect our jobs as well as our workplace. That said, we continually work to enhance aspects of diversity in hiring, employee retention, procurement, and more, and DiversityInc's benchmarking is very helpful to us in supporting that continued improvement."
