Federal Reserve Bankers Trade Suits and Ties for Toolbelts and Paintbrushes in ReynoldstownFor immediate release June 18, 1998
Employees from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta are constructing a theater and vendor booths and joining the staff of the Wheelbarrow Summer Theater in the Reynoldstown section of Atlanta to help make this season's performances and events a success for the community.
For the past two years, Reynoldstown, with the help of approximately 200 volunteers from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, has sponsored theatrical performances as part of a community rebuilding program. The Wheelbarrow Summer Theater creates a social outlet and offers residents an opportunity to be actively involved in the renovation of their community. Residents gain entrepreneurial experience selling crafts and baked goods at vending booths during the performances. The Atlanta Fed employees volunteer to help with the construction of the theater and organization of the performances as part of the Bank's community outreach.
Employees from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta will construct the theater on Friday, June 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m., and Saturday, June 20, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Fed employees will also help during the performances on June 25, 26 and 27. The Wheelbarrow Summer Theater will be held at the Lang/Carson Community Center located at 100 Flat Shoals Avenue, S.E., in the Reynoldstown community of Atlanta.
