For immediate release Feb. 10, 1999

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta today released annual revisions for seasonally adjusted data for its Survey of Southeastern Manufacturing Conditions. The annual revisions cover the period of January 1992 through December 1998.

In addition to incorporating standard annual updates for seasonal factors, the revisions include late-received reports from southeastern manufacturers not previously incorporated in published reports. The seasonal factors are derived over the entire seven-year period, using the U.S. Bureau of the Census X-11 ARIMA seasonal adjustment procedure.

The release of January's initial data in the Southeastern Manufacturing Survey is scheduled for Feb. 12. The historical revisions contain monthly revisions to December 1998 data.

Series that did not pass statistical tests for stable seasonality have not been seasonally adjusted. For the month-ago series, data are not adjusted for the following series: prices received, prices paid, new orders for exports and supplier delivery time. For the six-months-out series, data are not adjusted for new orders for exports and for supplier delivery time.

Data can be downloaded from the Atlanta Fed's Southeastern Manufacturing Survey History.
