Gudorf and Jones Reappointed, Shea Appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch Board of Directors

Francis V. Gudorf, president and executive director of Jubilee Community Development Corp., and Edwin A. Jones Jr., president of Angus Investments Inc., have been reappointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami Branch. Thomas H. Shea, regional chief executive officer of Florida/Caribbean for Right Management Consultants, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Atlanta Fed’s Miami Branch. Their terms began Jan. 1, 2006, and run through Dec. 31, 2008.

Gudorf has served in his current position since 1995. Prior to that, he practiced law for nearly 18 years in New York, Cincinnati and Miami. He also taught business law as an adjunct professor at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gudorf is a member of the Florida State Bar Association and the South Florida Community Development Coalition. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in 1971 and a law degree from the New York University School of Law in 1975.

Jones founded Angus Investments Inc. in 1981. The company specializes in agricultural properties in South Florida. Prior to that, he was executive vice president of Hatton Bros. Inc., a farming corporation in Pahokee, Fla. Jones was also a partner in Pahokee Builders Inc. Jones is past president and current director of the Western Palm Beach County Farm Bureau and the Florida Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Florida and is designated as an Accredited Rural Appraiser by the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.

Shea founded a career transition firm in 1979, which became one of the original units of Right Management Consultants. He is a director of the Florida State University Center for Human Resource Management, the Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, the Andreas School of Business at Barry University, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Broward Workshop. Shea earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a graduate degree from Louisiana State University and conducted postgraduate work at the University of Virginia and Wesleyan University.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and branch territories to the district bank’s president and head office directors, who use the information in formulating monetary policy and making discount rate recommendations. The Atlanta head office directors appointed Gudorf and Shea. The Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., appointed Jones. The Board of Governors appoints three of the directors of the Miami Branch, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
