May Appointed, Ardoin and Sterling Reappointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's New Orleans Branch Board of Directors

Phillip R. May, president and chief executive officer, Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's New Orleans Branch. May is serving an unexpired term that began Nov. 7, 2013, and runs through Dec. 31, 2015. Elizabeth A. Ardoin, senior executive vice president and director of communications, IBERIABANK, and Terrie P. Sterling, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, have been reappointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's New Orleans Branch. Their terms begin Jan. 1, 2014, and run through Dec. 31, 2016. Sterling will serve as chair of the New Orleans Branch in 2014.

May has served in his current position since 2013. He began his career at Entergy in 1986 as an engineer and worked his way up through the company in positions of increasing responsibility to become president and chief executive officer in 2013.

May is a member of the board of directors of Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, and member of the Committee of 100, executive board and the Nature Conservancy of Louisiana, board of trustees. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and an MBA from the University of New Orleans.

Ardoin has been director of communications of IBERIABANK since 2002. She is co-chair of Opus Christi Magnum, the annual fundraiser for Lafayette Catholic Service Centers. She is a former member of the boards of Big Brothers/Sisters, the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and Acadiana Outreach Center. Ardoin received her bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in 1991 and received her certification from the American Bankers Association School of Banking and Marketing in 2005.

Before assuming her current position in 2006, Sterling held various positions with Our Lady of the Lake. She is a member of the boards of Capital Area United Way, Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, and American Heart Association Greater Southeast Region Affiliate. She is also the 2014 chair of the American Heart Association's Heart Walk for the Baton Rouge region. Sterling, a registered nurse, received a master's degree in nursing science from Loyola University, an MBA from Louisiana State University and a bachelor's degree from Northeast Louisiana University.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and the branch territory to the district bank's president and head office directors, who use the information to formulate monetary policy and make discount rate recommendations. Sterling was reappointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. Ardoin was reappointed and May was appointed by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. The Board of Governors appoints three of the New Orleans Branch directors, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
