Heath M. Holtz, senior vice president of manufacturing, supply chain management, and purchasing for Nissan North America Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Nashville Branch. Holtz is filling an unexpired term that began May 15, 2019, and runs through December 31, 2020.

Holtz has served in his current position since 2017. He has worked for Nissan since 2006, serving as vice president of manufacturing at Nissan North America in 2017 and deputy managing director of manufacturing at Nissan Motor Corporation in 2016. From 2013 to 2016 Holtz served as vice president of supply chain management for Nissan Europe, from 2012 to 2013 he was deputy general manager of Nissan Motor Corporation in Japan, from 2010 to 2012 he was director of North American Logistics for Nissan North America, and from 2006 to 2010 he held various positions including manager of vehicle operations and department manager of material handling for Nissan North America. Before joining Nissan, Holtz worked as a materials manager for Dell Inc. from 2005 to 2006.

Holtz earned a bachelor's degree in science from the United States Air Force Academy, a master's degree in science from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a master's degree in science and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was awarded the Martin Trust Fellows Award for excellence in his graduating class from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and the branch territory to the district bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in discussing monetary policy options and making discount rate recommendations. Holtz was appointed to fill an unexpired term by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC. The Board of Governors appoints three of the Nashville Branch directors, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
