Alex Romeo has been named vice president over the Retail Payments Office's (RPO) strategic business services and Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, president and CEO Raphael Bostic announced Tuesday.

Romeo, who is new to the Federal Reserve System, will focus on enhancing RPO revenue streams, educating customers on strategic product offerings, and leading enterprise initiatives as the FRFS becomes more focused on enterprise- and customer-centered initiatives.

Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, Romeo served as vice president and product manager for The Clearing House's Electronic Payments Network (EPN), where he was responsible for implementing initiatives to drive growth for EPN customers and developing complementary new product and service offerings.

Prior to joining The Clearing House, Romeo spent 28 years at Citigroup, where he held various management roles in corporate cash management/treasury services and branch operations. Romeo currently serves in an ACH Operator advisory capacity on the National Automated Clearing House Association board of directors. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Iona College.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks, and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
