Hurley, Bacardi, and Lang Appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch Board of Directors

Thomas W. Hurley, chairman and chief executive officer, Becker Holding Corp., Vero Beach, Fla., Facundo L. Bacardi, chairman of the board, Bacardi Limited, Coral Gables, Fla., and Carol C. Lang, president, HealthLink Enterprises Inc., Miami Beach, Fla., have been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch. Their terms begin Jan. 1, 2012, and run through Dec. 31, 2014.
Hurley has served in his current position since 2005. He also served as vice president of marketing and sales from 1997 to 2005 and from 1993 to 1997 held various positions with increasing responsibility. Hurley is a member of the board of directors of the Martin County Economic Council and serves on its executive committee. He is a former director of Ocean Spray Cranberries, Oculina Bank Corporation, Eaton National Bank, and Colonial Bank Corporation. Hurley received his MBA degree in 2011 from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management and his bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1993.
Bacardi has served as chairman of the board of Bacardi Limited since 2005. He has served as executive director of the Facundo & Amalia Bacardi Foundation since 2005; managing member, Apache Capital LLC since 2000; director, Bacardi Limited since 1993; and president, Cardinal Holdings Inc. since 1992. Bacardi serves on the board of trustees of Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company and Emory University. Other memberships include Noro-Moseley Partners Advisory Board and the Georgia Bar Association. Bacardi received a juris doctorate degree in May 1996 from Emory University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in finance in December 1989 from American University.
Lang founded HealthLink Enterprises Inc. in 1990. She has served as vice president/credit officer of Citigroup/Citibank from 1975 to 1990. She has also served as a director of Ramsay HMO Inc.; Citicorp Trust, Palm Beach, Fla.; Citibank (Florida), N.A.; Citicorp Savings of Florida; and Preserve Educational Choice, a nonprofit corporation founded in 2006. She is a member of the board of trustees (and chairperson from 2001 to 2003) of the Cushman School and the Investment Committee of Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast since 2007. Lang received an MBA degree from Fordham University in New York and a bachelor's degree with honors from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Va. She is a National Defense Foreign Language Fellowship Recipient for her post-graduate work in Russian studies at Fordham University.
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and the branch territory to the district bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in formulating monetary policy and making discount rate recommendations. Hurley was appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. Bacardi and Lang were appointed by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. The Board of Governors appoints three Miami Branch directors, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
