ATLANTA FED NAMES CHRISTOPHER L. OAKLEY VICE PRESIDENT AND BRANCH MANAGER OF JACKSONVILLE BRANCH

Christopher L. Oakley has been named vice president and branch manager of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, announced Jack Guynn, president and chief executive officer of the Atlanta Fed. In his new position, Oakley will have responsibility for all operations at the Jacksonville Branch and will serve as the training function director for the Sixth Federal Reserve District’s Financial Services Division. Oakley will replace Robert J. Slack, currently senior vice president and Jacksonville Branch manager, who is retiring at the end of March 2002.

Oakley joined the Jacksonville Branch in 1988 as a management intern in the Cash Services Department and has held various management positions, including cash services supervisor, personnel coordinator and personnel manager. He was promoted to financial services director in 1992 and then to assistant vice president in 1996. He was named assistant branch manager in 1997. Oakley holds a bachelor of science degree in management and a certificate in industrial and organizational psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has also completed two executive education courses at the University of Virginia.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. As part of the nation’s central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
