State Government Finances - January 2010

December total tax revenues continued to decline for five of the six states in the Sixth District. (Louisiana tax revenues for November and December have not yet been released.) Total tax revenues fell .4 percent in Alabama, 6.7 percent in Florida, 13.1 percent in Georgia, 6.3 percent in Mississippi, and 2.5 percent in Tennessee (on a three-month moving average basis) from a year earlier.

Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee saw smaller declines in tax collections in December than in November; Florida was the only District state that saw total tax revenue growth accelerate on a year-over-year basis.
