State Government Finances - March 2010

February total tax revenues continued to decline for all six Sixth District states. Total tax revenues fell 2.9 percent in Alabama, 4.3 percent in Florida, 7.8 percent in Georgia, 18.8 percent in Louisiana, 5.2 percent in Mississippi, and 2.6 percent in Tennessee (on a three-month moving average basis) from 2009.

Florida and Georgia saw smaller tax decreases in February than in January while the rate of decline in revenues increased for Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Louisiana's rate of decline in revenue doubled from January to February.
