Cynthia N. Day serves as president and chief executive officer of Citizens Trust Bank. Ms. Day joined Citizens Trust Bank in February 2003 as an executive vice president through an acquisition of the historical Citizens Federal Savings Bank of Birmingham, where she had served as executive vice president and chief operating officer and in other capacities since 1993. Two years after the acquisition, Ms. Day became the senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, making her the first woman to hold this position for both institutions. In February 2012, she became chief executive officer, the first permanently named female chief executive officer in the company's history.

During her tenure as CEO, the bank reached many milestones including achieving record level earnings. Through her leadership, the bank remained healthy and financially strong. On numerous occasions, it was cited by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as one of Georgia's top 100 publicly traded companies before going private in 2017. She also has been recognized for her leadership and mentorship in various community and professional organizations. She was featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2020 "Women Who Mean Business" edition and in The Atlantan magazine's "The 25 Most Influential Atlantans." She was named one of Atlanta Magazine's 2020 top 500 business leaders and one of the "100 Most Influential Georgians" by Georgia Trend magazine in 2017. Ms. Day was also named multiple years as one of "Atlanta's Top 100 Leaders in Finance" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and was the 2014 "CEO of the Year" by the Atlanta Business League.

Prior to becoming a banker, she began her career with KPMG and ascended to audit manager before being recruited to the banking industry. She became a licensed certified public accountant and has been a CPA for more than 28 years.

Ms. Day is a member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is also a member of Citizens Bancshares Corporation; PROG Inc., where she chairs the audit committee; Primerica Inc., where she chairs the nominating and governance committees; the National Bankers Association; and the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. She also is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Ms. Day received her BS degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of Alabama.
