John M. Turner Jr. is president and chief executive officer of Regions Financial Corporation since July 2018. Regions Financial Corporation is one of the nation's largest full-service providers of consumer and commercial banking, wealth management, and mortgage products and services. Regions is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, and has more than 20,000 employees. Regions serves customers across the South, Midwest, and Texas and through its subsidiary, Regions Bank, operates approximately 1,300 banking offices and 2,000 ATMs.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Turner served as president and head of the corporate banking group from 2017 to 2018. Prior to this role, he served as head of the corporate banking group from 2014 to 2017 and was president of the south region from 2011 to 2014.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Turner served as president of Whitney National Bank and Whitney Holding Corporation from 2008 to 2011. He joined Whitney National Bank as the Alabama regional president in 1994.
Mr. Turner is the Federal Advisory Council representative for the Sixth District of the Federal Reserve System.
He earned his BS in economics from the University of Georgia and is a graduate of Leadership Alabama.
