R. Andrew Watts has served as executive vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer of Brown & Brown Inc. since 2014. Headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, Brown & Brown Inc. is an insurance brokerage firm that has delivered risk management solutions to individuals and businesses since 1939. It has more than 16,000 teammates in more than 500 locations worldwide.
In his role, Mr. Watts delivers a heightened focus on financial discipline, capital allocation, and decision support for the business. The company has been publicly traded since 1993 and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange as BRO. Brown & Brown was added to the S&P 500 Index in 2021.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Watts served as the global head of customer administration for Thomson Reuters from 2011 through 2014 and as a chief financial officer of Thomson Reuters's financial division from 2008 through 2011.
Mr. Watts is a member of the board of directors of the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the New Planet Energy Development, Daytona Beach Museum of Arts & Science, and the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation. He serves on an advisory board for the Illinois State University College of Business.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Illinois State University.
