Amanda W. Hite has served as president for STR (formerly Smith Travel Research) since 2011. STR is a subsidiary of commercial real estate analytics company CoStar Group and provides data benchmarking and marketplace insights for the hotel and hospitality sectors. STR has the world's largest hotel performance database with more than 70,000 hotels around the world. The company provides trend reports, profitability studies, forecasting, and a variety of consulting services.
Ms. Hite joined STR as director of quality assurance in 2006. She became vice president, strategic implementation, in 2007 and chief strategy officer in 2010.
Prior to joining STR, she served as director of research for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce from 1999 to 2005.
Ms. Hite is a member of the board of directors of the Nashville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She also serves on the boards of directors of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the US Travel Association, and the executive council of Women in Lodging. Ms. Hite is a member of the industry advisory board of the hotel and restaurant management program at Auburn University.
Ms. Hite received her BS degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College.
